Nowhere to Go

It’s your day off and it happens to be a Sunday.  You work at night (if you outsource to the Asia Pacific) so you’re wide awake.  Unfortunately, you have nowhere to go…almost.

Since the call center business has started in our city, it took the biggest fast food chains a long time before they decided to keep their stores open for 24 hours.  In our little nook, we had to either bring our own food (which is already cold and tasteless), buy from the cafeteria in the building (affordable but tastes terrible) or go to fast food restaurants around the area.   By the time you reach at the end of the week, you’re so sick of fast food, you’d rather starve through the shift and wait until everything is open to eat.  Better yet…just go home.

Again, this is worse when you spend your day off at home instead of planning your drinking spree with your buddies.

Solutions?  You have several options:

1)  Invite other call center friends and party at home.
2)  Plan an out-of-town trip (better staring at the beach or the mountains than the street)
3)  Stay awake after your shift and go out till you drop.  This is the usual option for a lot of us.  You get the chance to mingle and see people bustling about during the day.  Painful though for some, but better than getting bored at home.
4)  SLEEP, SLEEP, and SLEEP.  I think this is number one in the ranks.  Since we normally get little sleep during the week, we’d rather sleep it off and get 12 hours.
